This has been, in all honesty, the most difficult post to write. Made me feel very wobbly, so comments would be welcome... I think!

a very similar story here, we moved youngest child into private school aged 6, he wasn't being supported in state school and was labelled as disruptive and uncooperative, within a year he was boarding full time and we only lived 4 miles away. He was diagnosed with displacement and it was felt by the psychiatrist we saw that he needed a regular routine that school could provide him better than we could, he was also being investigated for coeliac disease and gluten had a direct link with behaviour and concentration, we have 3 other boys and a daughter who is profoundly disabled. in sept 2010 he returned back into year 7 state school, we had to fight the authorities for a place in a smaller secondary school and within 2 weeks of him starting we heard we were moving to South Africa. there is no mainstream learning support in South Africa or where we are currently living in Dubai, so he returned to boarding school after 3 years, aged 14, his boarding school specialise in dyslexia and he will be staying to do his A levels in software and media studies.
